THE WOMEN’S RUGBY WORLD CUP ENGLAND 2025
Back in May, I had the honour of hand-painting the case for the newly designed Women’s Rugby World Cup trophy. It was unveiled at Battersea power station and I met so many inspiring women, from rugby legends to young players to keep an eye on!
When the final rolled around in September, I was lucky enough to go and see England play Canada at Twickenham. It was breathtaking to see so many people show up for women's sport, a record breaking 82,000 people sold out the stadium completely!!
Throughout the journey, I’ve been helping raise money for ChildFund Rugby who help young people in vulnerable communities build confidence, leadership skills, and brighter futures through sport.
On the day of the final, I knew Ilona Maher was there but was never expecting to actually meet such an icon. Then, within the space of 10 minutes I was whisked to the other side of Twickenham and literally met a real life legend. Ilona gave me a signed shirt & luckily I bought my paints just in case.
I painted a ball from the final alongside a signed shirt which went on to raise further funds for ChildFund Rugby with a ‘donate what you can’ raffle cos everyone should be in with a chance to win xx
Thank you to everyone who donated, shared and cheered from the sidelines. You helped create opportunities for young people who deserve the chance to thrive.
And I literally CANNOT wait to see how far women's sport is gonna go, I’m so excited!! Love, Soph xx
