ABOUT TATE WARD

Situated in the heart of Shoreditch, based in the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane, we are in the creative centre of London. We are passionate about our departments; Urban & Contemporary, Modern & Post War and Wine. We offer a free valuation service and quarterly specialist live auctions, regular online auctions, as well as private sales alongside art events held in the Old Truman Brewery.

Bidding will begin to close on Thursday, November 17th at 4:00pm (GMT)

What kind of auction is this?
This auction is online-only, held exclusively via Artsy. The lots in the sale will open for bidding at the same time, after which bids can be placed via our bidding platform. All lots will then close at individually set times.

How do I sign up to bid?
In order to bid, you will need to register via Artsy. This is easy and you can do so here! You will need to confirm your email address, so remember to check your inbox after registering. 

How do I bid?
You will need to place a maximum bid anytime before the sale ends, which means you place the absolute max bid price you would be willing to pay for the lot. As the sale progresses, if/when other collectors also bid on your lot of interest, Artsy will automatically bid on your behalf for the lowest competitive price up to, but not exceeding, your defined maximum bid amount. 

For example if your maximum bid is £2,000, and someone bids £1,500, you won't pay £1,500 only the next bidding increment to £1,500 which is £100 for this price range.

What is a bidding increment?
Bidding increments determine the next bid that can be placed. Increments are based on the current bid and increase as bidding goes up. These differ depending on the price range, take a look at Artsy's bidding increments below:

£1,000 - £1,999: £100
£2,000 - £4,999: £250
£5,000 - £9,999: £500

What happens if two people have the same maximum bid?
 If two bidders attempt to enter the same maximum bid, the first bidder to enter that amount will be the winner.

How can I keep track of my bids?

Artsy will email you when they receive your bids and whenever you are outbid. If you win, they will notify you of your winning bids after the auction ends.. 

We recommend keeping an eye out on the bids when it is near to the closing time (17th November 4.00pm GMT).
